Longtime Prince collaborator Sheila E. was scheduled to perform with Tower of Power before Prince passed away. She’s now performing a special tribute to the one and only genius from Minneapolis, her own mentor and friend. The percussionist has collaborated with Prince since the Purple Rain recording sessions, and performed with many other notable musicians throughout the years. Sheila recently performed an amazing medley of Prince songs at the 2016 BET Awards, and this concert will definitely be just as epic.

Friday, July 22 @ Chene Park. Doors at 8 p.m.; 2600 Atwater St., Detroit; cheneparkdetroit.com; Tickets range from $26-$76.
