Hip-hop supergroup Ugly Heroes release second album

Detroit producer Apollo Brown, local emcee Red Pill and Chicago emcee Verbal Kent are Ugly Heroes. As described on their Bandcamp:

"An Ugly Hero is considered a myth

. Growing up, the heroes we saw in cartoons and movies were perfectly chiseled, intelligent, and had senses none of us possess. An UGLY HERO is the everyday blue collar individual that makes the world go 'round. These are the heroes that work hard all day, everyday to help ensure that the lives around them are taken care of, and do it all without recognition. They wear themselves into the ground and sacrifice vanity for family."

These values are clearly expressed on their newest album, Everything in Between, through ruthlessly honest rhymes on top of luscious boom-bap beats. Their universal themes are so relatable it's hard to believe these guys aren't more well known. They understand that hard work pays off in unexpected ways, and sometimes heroism can be found in the smallest of actions. As the album description states: "In a frivolous world, Ugly Heroes prove that talent will always reign supreme and honesty can never become obsolete."

"We may not be the heroes this world needs, we're definitely not the heroes this world wants, but at least we're here," says Michigan’s anti-Surgeon General, Red Pill.

The album is available for stream and purchase on Apollo Brown's Bandcamp
