Last weekend, beloved local producer GRiZ held his second annual sold-out holiday fundraising event which he calls GRiZmas. There were also numerous smaller events leading up to the big day. The great news is that the tally is in, and well over $30,000 was raised. for the very worthy nonprofit organization Little Kids Rock, which aims to replenish and restore music education in public schools.

In addition, the gentleman was awarded the Spirit of Detroit award from the Detroit City Council!

"GRiZ is a staple, not only in the electronic music circuit, but a staple in the City of Detroit. Your music is for all of us, it's meant to be experienced, danced too and sung-a-long too...," our fair city's mayor, Mike Duggan, is quoted as saying in the press release.
