Panic in Hamtramck will indeed be held at the Painted Lady this weekend, Sept. 4-6

As recently as one week ago, we were afraid that one of Detroit's most loved showcases of underground sound, the Panic in Hamtramck, wasn't happening this year at the Painted Lady as no word had been posted anywhere (and of course because Timmy Vulgar, who used to expertly book the fest, took himself and his tacos to another part of town).

Lo and behold, we have word via this engaging flyer (which was shared on Facebook Friday afternoon and appears to be resting upon a 1970s carpet) that the fest is back! This is very good news. We believe it is the 12th year of the fest, and it's still looking packed, and will continue to take place over three days, from this Friday, Sept. 4-Sunday, Sept. 6. As you can see, the listed bands are Wild Savages, Detroit 442, Ill Itches, Bonehead, Primitiv Parts, Idiot Kids, the Q, Blakdog, and the Vonneguts (with more acts to be announced later). Admission is $6 per night, with $15 wristbands for each day. As it's in a bar, it's 21 and over only, OK.
