Eminem drew a picture of Tupac and gave it to Tupac's mom

While by no means breaking news, a letter and drawing created by Eminem addressed to Tupac's mother Afeni Shakur have been making the rounds on the internet.

In the undated letter, Eminem begins by apologizing for the "sloppy" drawing, saying he has been drawing since he was 10 but he didn't have "the right pencils." He signed the drawing: "To: Afeni — Your friend 4-ever! —Marshall"

The letter goes on to read:

"You will always be in my heart, my thought, and my prayers. As I have said before, you have no idea how much your son and his music inspired, not only the 'hip hop' world, but, speaking for myself, has inspired my whole career. He was, and still is, the true definition of a 'Soldier.' When I was feeling at my 'worst,' (before fame, before Dre) I knew I could put that 'Tupac' tape in and, suddenly, things weren't so bad."

The sketch and letter appeared in the 2008 book Tupac Remembered, but took on a new life after someone recently posted it to Reddit (via Rolling Stone). A caption in the book says both items are on display at the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
