Watch: Olivia Jean performs a stripped-down song for the Blue Room Spotlight Series

Posted By on Fri, Jun 19, 2015 at 7:03 AM

On Thursday, Paste Magazine premiered the second video in its "Blue Room Spotlight Series," which sees artists perform stripped-down songs at Nashville's Third Man Records. The video features Detroit-area native and solo artist Olivia Jean performing "Haunt Me," a track from her 2014 solo debut, Bathtub Love Killings

According to this introductory video, Jean caught her big break when she gave Jack White a demo CD after a secret Dead Weather gig at the Magic Stick. Since then, she relocated to Nashville, becoming a session musician for White's Third Man Records.

By the way, if you haven't heard already heard the news, White is brining Third Man back to Detroit. The label was founded in Detroit in 2001 before establishing its first physical headquarters in 2009 in Nashville. The Detroit branch is set to open in November.

The first Blue Room Spotlight Series featured another Detroit-bred artist, Danny Kroha. Check out Jean's video below:
