Update: Deadline extended for MT's 'America's Got Talent' contest

[UPDATE Monday, Dec. 22, 2014] The deadline has now been extended until January 12, 2015. So let's see those auditions!

We already know Detroit's got plenty of talent — we cover talented Detroiters each and every week here in Metro Times (we're convinced there's something in our water). But does the rest of the country know?

Now's your chance to show America just how talented you are. We have five "Front of Line" passes for our most talented readers to audition for America's Got Talent in Chicago on Jan. 24 and 25.

All you have to do is send us an email with your name, city of residence, phone number, a brief bio, and a link to a YouTube audition video to We'll have a look and hook up our five most talented readers up with passes to get to the front of the line in Chicago. That's as far as we can take you — then it's up to the America's Got Talent judges in Chicago. Afterward we'll check in and share your story in Metro Times.

We'll pick our five winners by Jan. 12, 2015. For more information and guidelines on what to audition, check out the show's official audition site.
