One that got away

We finished our staff music Top Ten lists the other day, breaking them up into local and not-local lists. the local one in particular is a pretty great list, as you will soon see! But you always get hit by what you left off as soon as you finalize a thing like this. For me, it's Carl Hultgren's May 2014 release Tomorrow.

Tomorrow
is the debut solo outing from the guy most people know as the one not named Windy in the long-running power ambient act Windy & Carl. W&C are notable for being left off of every "oh my God New Age music is cool again" article written in the last year and a half when people have written these pieces, despite the fact that they were making meaty, spiritual jams since way back in the 1990s.

One of the reasons it's not on my list is that I don't own it yet — will have to drop by Stormy in Dearborn (owned by Windy & Carl) to secure a copy as soon as I can. It appears to be a double album of droney instrumental music, which is just my cup of tea. I'll report more after I've "gripped" the thing.
