City Slang: Short but sweet

Celtic rockers the Codgers will have their CD release show at the Gaelic League this Saturday, April 6. Also on the bill will be Mike Galbraith, Larry Larson, and Carl Henry.

Katie Grace has been nominated for four Detroit Music Awards, and she will perform at the event on Friday, April 19 at the Fillmore. According to a statement, “Katie is also a hometown favorite as fans and colleagues have nominated her for four awards in the Country category in the 2013 Detroit Music Awards. She received nominations for Outstanding Country Instrumentalist, Songwriter, Vocalist and her album "Best Bad Girl" is nominated for Country Recording.”

Stewart Francke will shoot a live video on Friday evening, April 26, at RMS Studio, 2275 Cole in Birmingham. Says he, “Since it's an actual recording studio and we're shooting and recording this in the RMS live room, space is very limited, so please RSVP back to this address as soon as you can so we can get an estimate on seating, spacing, everything like that. The video is directed by Jordan Krause.”

This year’s Cars and Stars annual fundraiser for the arts is on Friday, June 7. They say, “This year's theme is the traditional circus, and we will be announcing the special guests and performers in the next couple of weeks via press release, so watch for it!”
