City Slang: Electric Six back on tour

Posted By on Thu, Feb 7, 2013 at 10:40 PM

The Electric Six are going back on tour to both fund a new live DVD called Absolute Treasure.

The band is using Kickstarter to raise money for the DVD. Says frontman Dick Valentine, “Previously, I said I’d only do a Kickstarter campaign to have me surgically altered to look like Amanda Palmer, but this live DVD seems like a good idea as well. We want professional camerawork and editing, so we need some financing. In order to get this financing, we are offering up ten years of E6 memorabilia and it turns out there’s a whole lot of it ready to be auctioned off. We’re excited about auctioning some of it off.”

The movie will be filmed at St. Andrew’s Hall. “In Detroit when you are watching a show, you get to feel the knives,” adds Dick.

That show will be on September 7. Before that, they play the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor on February 14, and the Intersection in Grand Rapids on March 23.
