(Gold) Tapes

Posted By on Wed, Dec 19, 2012 at 5:34 PM

Remember that rambly post-punk-pocked blahg-post from this morning? The one concerning Parquet Courts' show at Jumbo's on the 26th? (Here).

There's more going on at that shin-dig than just the commemoration of their fine, knotty, gnarly album Light Up Gold.

Tapes...

Woodbridge based Gold Tapes is offering some cassette goodies from aforementioned Protomartyr and Kommie Kilpatrick. Interestingly about the latter's special release is that it was recorded during a practice last month, unbeknownst to all band-members who otherwise presumed they were merely rehearsing.

Ah, the cavernous ambiance of basement-punk! (Still, fans of these hardcore revivalist-rompers can hear new-versions of their old stuff on this tape).

Protomartyr, meanwhile, are featuring songs recorded live in studio at WCBN in Ann Arbor.
