City Slang: Kaleido prepares for summer fests

Posted By on Tue, Aug 14, 2012 at 7:43 AM

Local pop-punkers Kaleido, featuring Christina Chriss, are preparing for the Motors & Music festival at the Silverdome on August 18, then Arts Beats & Eats on September 2.

Chriss has emerged as a compelling frontwoman and, though the band is often compared to the likes of Paramore, Kaleido in fact has a sound that effortlessly merges punk, metal and radio rock.

They say, “Kaleido formed in 2011 when members Chriss and drummer Joey Fava met while playing a show together with their previous bands.  The band has grown to include bassist Cody Morales, guitarist Ronnie Rosolino and guitarist Jamie Burnham.  They have been featured in AMP Magazine, Real Detroit Weekly and the Macomb Daily as well as getting airplay on 89X.  Their EP is due out in the fall of 2012.”
