City Slang: Chicks rock at the Ritz

The 1st Annual Chick’s Rock – Showcase and Music Festival takes place at the Ritz in Warren on April 28, celebrating female-fronted hard rock and metal band’s in the Detroit area.

According to the press release, “There’s a great list of bands taking part in this show including; Cybertrybe, Stealing Betty, Mound Road Engine, Through Our Eyes, Fall Prey, No Quarter and opening the show is the one and only Fabulous Miss Wendy fromL.A. In addition to the awesome list of talent we have some great companies that are going to be part of the show this year as well, including; Empire Seven Clothing, Undercover Wear, Malvagio Clothing, S. Rose Creations, LLC and Bauble’s and Bags.

"This first annual event is a full-blown showcase of Michigan talent and companies. “Everyone that’s a part of the show this first year is extremely excited about the show and for what it has the makings to become.” explains Deluxxe Entertainment's Harold “Howie” Herula.  He also includes that “Michigan has so many different types of shows and festivals yet one that really celebrates the females in our industry is a rare kind of thing.”
