City Slang: New Year’s Eve shows

Posted By on Sat, Dec 31, 2011 at 11:02 AM

It’s New Year’s Eve, and that usually means that there are a ton of great shows to choose from while welcoming in 2012. Here are a few:

The Magic Stick is hosting the Detroit Cobras, with Amy Gore and Her Valentines and Sisters of Her Sunshine Vapor opening up.

Downstairs in the Majestic Theater, Kalamazoo band Greensky Bluegrass plays, with Ann Arbor’s the Macpodz opening.

There’s an awesome punk rock bill at the New Dodge in Hamtramck, with the Bill Bondsmen (who were MT cover stars in 2011), plus Fires in Japan and Keego Kid.

There`s a great, though completely different, show at the Lager House, with Melvin Davis & United Sound, Pat Lewis, Ryan Dillaha, and Detroit Second Line Brass Band.
