Black Milk Offers a Early Christmas Present

Posted By on Sat, Dec 24, 2011 at 4:23 PM

Looks like Detroit rapper and producer Black Milk is giving out gifts a day early. This afternoon, he and soulful singer Melanie Rutherford released a new song that puts a nice spin on an old Paul McCartney Christmas classic. They titled it "Simply Having" and are giving it away for free download now.

You got to give it up to Black for being creative enough to flip this track in the first place and then dropping it on Christmas Eve. The beat is jazzy and soulful enough to match Rutherford's vocals and, to be honest, this song goes way harder than the original. In hilarious fashion, shoe fanatics will appreciate the fact that Peppermint Patty is sporting the new Air Jordans if you look hard enough at the image. SMH. Hopefully Black Milk will start reworking Christmas songs on an annual basis.

Here's the original version. Who knew Black Milk could out do Sir Paul?
