City Slang: Stooges book release in Hamtramck

Posted By on Fri, Sep 30, 2011 at 3:12 PM

On Saturday night, the New Dodge in Hamtramck will host the book release party for The Stooges: Head On by, umm, me. No apologies for the shameless self-promotion.

It should be a great night. I’ll be there with books, for those with an interest in the Stooges or the MC5 (the latter the subject of my first book).

Entertainment comes in the form of four great bands: Sharky & the Habit, the Ashleys, Amy Gore & the Valentines, and Bootsey X & the Lovemasters. Bootsey, of course, played with late Stooges guitarist Ron Asheton in Dark Carnival.

Doors are at 8, and the music starts at 9. Cover is $5 (or $10 for 18-21’s). I hope to see you there.
