Considering how many ace music veterans owe Coffey a favor or two, there's no telling who he'll have come out and join him on stage but given his renewed energy and the Will Sessions backing band that typically joins him, it'll be a fun performance no matter what. It's a joy to see all of the hype and anticipation around Coffey's new release. I just caught him perform in Austin at SXSW and he's making a core effort to get around the country and the globe letting more audiences see him. According to his Twitter feed, he just got back from London and Paris a couple of days ago, and he'll playing a show at Cliff Bells on April 9th and performing for Record Store Day on April 16th in Royal Oak.
For a solid Q&A on Dennis Coffey, check out this interview he did with ace blogger Will Johnsen at SXSW. Then check out this beautiful mix that DJ House Shoes recently put together taking novice listers on an A-Z trip through the catalog of Dennis Coffey.
