JAZZ ON A SUMMER NIGHT

Posted By on Sat, Aug 4, 2007 at 7:48 PM

The Jazz Cafe Discovery Series is currently booking its fall season and is looking for bands to perform live. All styles are welcome. Debut performances occur most Tuesday nights on the Absopure Stage of the Jazz Cafe, in the lower level of the Music Hall, in downtown Detroit. Bands invited back for an encore performance are recorded and given airplay Sunday nights at 11 p.m. on WVMV 98.7FM and receive a CD copy of their performance. Encore performances take place most Wednesday nights. Many bands go on to get regular gigs at Jazz Cafe, adding to the many benefits the series provides local musicians The

series and radio program are hosted and co-produced by veteran jazz radio personality Judy Adams. Anyone interested in auditioning for the series and radio program should contact Jazz Cafe Program Director Ted Nag at 313-887-8532 or by email: jazzcafe@musichall.org.
