Are you ready to kick some serious glass? Wait — we didn’t mean literally.

The 47th Annual International Glass Invitational returns to Royal Oak as the oldest and largest glass exhibit in the world, featuring a dazzling — and very fragile — display of more than 300 works of art 100-plus internationally renowned artists. Special to this year’s event is John Miller’s Glass Food Truck, a traveling food truck gallery displaying Miller’s whimsical large scale glass hamburgers, fries, and donuts. Also new to the invitation is the Pop & Lock art experience, which explores images of American pop icons through glass works from 15 artists. Opening weekend will offer activities including a demonstration by graffiti glass artist Joseph Ivacic, a glass scavenger hunt, and selfie studio. The exhibit remains on display through July 5.

The 47th Annual International Glass Invitational begins at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 at Habatat Gallery; 4400 Fernlee Ave., Royal Oak; 248-554-0590; habatat.com. Admission is free.
