Amanda Bynes stars as a salt-of-the-earth high-school grad who enters college with dreams of joining her late mother’s sorority, which is now overrun by a totalitarian witch and her cabal of elitist buxom blondes. So she bands together the nerd fraternity — a bunch of the most stereotypical dorks you’ve ever seen, with their inhalers and Fangoria T-shirts — to take down the Greek establishment while converting her frat-boy love interest. A movie about college life that’s targeted to kids, this derivative tween comedy isn’t the most authentic vision of a girl’s collegiate rude awakenings: I Am Charlotte Simmons it ain’t. It is, or claims to be, a revisionist Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, something you’ll forget until you’re hit with the Snow White references, which land every 20 minutes or so.
