Hark! Place’th your cell phones down’th and cry your eyes dry — the ballet is in town. One is a non-narrative, surrealist journey of a poet and the other is a re-imagining of one of the most beloved tragedies ever written. Interpreted by the world-renowned Russian National Ballet, Music Hall’s double-header of Chopiniana and Romeo & Juliet aims to move. Though Chopiniana has seen many revisions, it remains to be a focus on emotion and motion, and serves as a perfect companion to Shakespeare’s romantic tale of suicidal starcrossed lovers and a major family feud.

Chopiniana and Romeo & Juliet will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11 at Detroit's Music Hall; 350 Madison Ave., Detroit; 313-887-8500; musichall.org; Tickets are $30+
