The Women's Convention, a three-day seminar organized by the same people as The Women's March on Washington, D.C. last January, is set to take place this weekend.

It hasn't been without a hitch though. Organizers faced scrutiny over booking Bernie Sanders as a featured speaker as well as exclusionary ticket prices that had some would-be attendees reeling.

Last week Sanders cancelled his appearance, saying he needed to take a trip to Puerto Rico amid ongoing turmoil caused by Hurricane Maria.

Now, organizers have announced a last minute addition to their speaker lineup — actress Rose McGowan.
McGowan recently became something of a figurehead of the ongoing crusade against alleged sexual assaulter Harvey Weinstein. She was even temporarily banned from Twitter after repeatedly tweeting criticisms of Weinstein.

The suspension ignited a social media firestorm during which the hashtag #RoseArmy emerged. McGowan has described the group as an "army of truth."

The actress — known best for her role on Charmed — will deliver opening remarks this Friday morning, according to a press release. She will also take part in Friday's Fighting for Survivors of Sexual Assault in the Age of Betsy Devos Panel at 2:15pm.
