A wise man by the name of Obi-Wan Kenobi once warned against the seedy patrons of the Mos Eisley Cantina, “You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.”

Welcome to Space Dive Episode V — a lawless and immersive re-creation of the galaxy’s underbelly, where scavengers and outlaws come to gamble, network, bargain, and get black-hole drunk. The costume-mandatory event (think layered earth tones, scarves, goggles, etc.,) will have live music and a 23-foot A-wing starfighter parked out front, not to mention all the blue milk you can drink and some of the best people-watching this side of Tatooine. Don’t forget to check your blasters at the door!

Space Dive begins at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at Tangent Gallery; 715 E. Milwaukee Ave., Detroit; spacedive313.com. Tickets are $20-$30 or $35 for both nights. Costumes are mandatory.
