News is that SNL's Jason Sudeikis and Lorne Michaels' Broadway Video have a new joint effort to produce a pilot for a new television series called Detroiters. It's slated to star Detroit natives Tim Robinson and Sam Richardson. SNL alum (and writer) Robinson and actor Richardson are both alums of Second City Chicago. Robinson appeared in the unaired TV comedy Friend Me. Richardson, who's appeared as "Richard" in the TV series Veep, is seeing his career gain traction, including with a Detroit connection, as he'll play a minor role in Royal Oak native Paul Feig's new film, Spy.

We always love rooting for hometowners, and so we'll be ready to laugh when Detroiters makes it to the screen. Especially pumped to see Richardson in a starring role. We remember him when he was a fresh-faced aspiring actor hanging out at Seven Brothers Bar in Hamtramck a decade ago. Good work, Sam!
