The Motor City’s house of avant garde art, the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit will host its 11th annual Gala + Auction and it’s going to be every bit as theatrical and abnormal as one would expect.

The event raises money to help the gallery fund projects and exhibition throughout the year, and guests will have access to handcrafted cocktails, entertainment, curated art auction items, and more. If you can’t afford a $1,000 ticket, you opt for the afterglow, a late night party that will feature New York-based model and rapper Chynna Rogers, and Detroit-based Frankie Banks — tickets are only $20.

The gala is Friday, Oct. 13 at MOCAD. Starts at 6 p.m.; 4454 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 313-832-6622; mocadetroit.org; Gala tickets start at $1000, afterglow tickets start at $20.
