The best thing about the holidays is that they bring some of our local favorites back home. Such is true for Michigan native and Ghostly International co-founder Matthew Dear. Influenced heavily by the electronic landscapes of Brian Eno, Dear’s approach to electronic music is a bit more avant-pop. Dear promises a four-hour set for the New Year’s celebration and will be joined by Ataxia, Chuck Flask, Clark Warner, DJ Holographic, Erno, and Rebecca Golberg.

Matthew Dear and Friends will perform at Marble Bar on Sunday, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m.; 1501 Holden St., Detroit; paxahau.com; Tickets start at $25.
