No, Cinema Detroit isn't closing. Not at all. As we've pointed out in a piece or two, Cinema Detroit, the downtown area's only theater screening first-run films, is moving over to Third.
But before it does, its final night will feature two local films back to back.
One film, Grave, is getting its premiere. The other film, 2012's Ticket to the Circus, features The L-Word's Elizabeth Keener in a major supporting role. Both films are directed by Barbara Troy, an area filmmaker. Plenty of the cast of Grave will be at the screening, including Jackie Strez, who appears in both films.
The screenings start at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Cinema Detroit, 3420 Cass Ave., Detroit.
