Sandra Leidecker, a graphic design and illustration student, has a book project called Geektown Detroit, which sees her creating prints inspired by the early Detroit techno scene. You can find it all here.

According to her website, “For her diploma thesis at Bauhaus Universität Weimar she did interviews with DJs, producers and label owners from Detroit and all over the world to learn about the roots of techno music. She did illustrations of main characters, studio gear and places in Detroit. Since December 2012 Sandra documented her research, inspirations, thoughts and sketches on tumblr.”

It really is a stunning series of work, capturing the color, as well as gritty underbelly, of the scene. “As I promised here is a collection of limited art prints of my Geektown Detroit artworks. Since my brother bought the whole series (!) I have 4 copies of each artwork left.”
