Fashion designer Tracy Reese returns to Detroit with pop-up boutique

News for Motor City fashion mavens: Runway designer Tracy Reese — a Detroit native and Cass Technical High School alum — has set up a pop-up boutique at local shop Détroit Is the New Black.

The pop-up started Oct. 1, but we just received word that Reese will make an appearance during a meet and greet on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. The pop-up features styles by Tracy Reese, along with one-of a kind runway pieces that will only be available in Detroit.

“I couldn’t be more excited to have a retail presence in Detroit!" Reese says in a release. "This is my hometown and it’s extremely close to my heart. It truly feels like a bit of a homecoming and I’m thrilled to partner with Roslyn Karamoko at Détroit Is the New Black for this event.”

Reese's labels include Tracy Reese, Tracy Reese Black Label, plenty by Tracy Reese, and plenty DRESSES by Tracy Reese. Her designs have been worn by First Lady Michelle Obama.
