Meijer has has agreed to stop selling the knockoff "Detroit vs. Everybody" shirts, MLive reports. "You sell licensed MSU, U of M, Tigers, Red Wings, Disney gear, etc., but just steal the work of a local artist," Facebook user Ebonee West posted to the store's page. In response, Meijer issued this reply:
"Thanks for the feedback — and you're right. Even if the company we purchased this shirt from hasn't violated copyright laws, it's a little too close for comfort so we're pulling these shirts from our two Detroit stores that carry them."

You might be forgiven if you thought that Tommey Walker, the guy behind those oh-so-fashionable "Detroit vs. Everybody" hoodies, had scored a distribution deal with local chain Meijer. But take a closer look at the shirts on sale there and you'll realize they say "Detroit vs. Everyone." Close, but not the same.
Sure, it gets a little confusing — Walker sells plenty of variations of his own brand, including "Detroit vs. Anybody," "Detroit Almighty," and "Everybody vs. Racism," among others. The ones at Meijer, though, are counterfeit.
"I've seen so many terrible knockoffs! It's frustrating," Walker told us when we interviewed him earlier this year. "We have some some legal situations going on with all of that."
Other rip-offs spotted include "Detroit Against the World" and "Memphis vs. Errrbody."
Imitation is the greatest form of flattery, but we're guessing that won't stop Walker from pursuing additional "legal situations."
