There's bad news for fans of Detroiters, Comedy Central's goofball tribute to the Motor City. Sam Richardson, who co-created and starred in the show alongside fellow metro Detroiter Tim Robinson, announced on Tuesday that the show was not picked up for a third season by the network.
"I want to thank everyone who watched and supported the show," Richardson tweeted. "It was a dream to make and I'm proud that those who did see it enjoyed it."

He mentioned the possibility of a revival, however. "Maybe it will find a home elsewhere, who knows?" he added.
The show starred Richardson and Robinson as "Sam" and "Tim," the heads of a low-rent Detroit ad agency. It first aired in February 2017, with a second season premiering in June this year. Shot in and around Detroit, each episode was chock-full of local references and cameos — so many that local comedians Mike Geeter and Seth Resler made a sport out of trying to spot them all in The Detroit vs. Detroiters Podcast.
While a show like Portlandia was similarly geographically tied, it expertly lampooned hipster and millennial culture at large. Perhaps Detroiters was just a bit too niche for national audiences.
