This could be your chance for your 15 minutes of reality TV fame — or to clear out that garage.
When it comes to antique collecting, there's a fine line between, say,
Hoarders and
American Pickers. Do you own every single issue of
Metro Times going back to 1980 — and have to burrow through them to get to your front door? You might be a good fit for
Hoarders. Have a garage, basement, or barn full of old, weird Americana? Then
American Pickers might be more your style.
Anyway, we just received word that
American Pickers hosts Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz are heading to Michigan in September, in search of subjects to interview and barter with for their hit History Channel show. According to an email from the show's producers, they're "looking for leads throughout the region, specifically interesting characters with interesting items and lots of them!" The email continues, "Please keep in mind, we are looking for different, unusual, and unique items, too — something we’ve never seen before and with an interesting story!"
If you think your collection is up to snuff, you can call 855-653-7878 or email
[email protected]. The release notes that they're looking for private collections only — "so NO stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions, businesses or anything open to the public."
