This Michigan-based quartet plays power pop with noise, melody, and driving rhythm. Observers have likened them to the collective sounds of The Police, Jawbox, The Jam, Swervedriver, Sloan, and others.
Ten Words For Snow has been together since 2000. Based in Madison Heights, TWFS practices, records their music, strategizes, and hangs out at Parts Unknown studio - otherwise known as the home of drummer Dave Melkonian. Dave, along with bassist Kraig Sagan and singer/guitarist Justin Berger have each toiled in Detroit underground rock for 10+ years. These 3 core members have applied the same ethic throughout their time spent playing together - make the music you enjoy and ignore the temptation of passing fancy. They have been members of such freethinking bands as 7000 Dying Rats, Bog Blast, Cromwell, and Moss Back. TWFS' recent addition of Shannan Whitehead on keyboards/vocals has provided new layers of sound to explore.
