About DragStrippers

DragStrippers says: "Gram Larceny was a co-creator of The Nuges, debuting in 1997. The Nuges were a dirty, raw, off-the-cuff punk band resembling an early and noisy Pussy Galore. After The Nuges faded away in early 1999, Gram began searching for the right musicians to take this sound farther. In July of 1999 Paul Garza(Choking Susan, Crossfire, Franklin Sane) and Dee Sparkles (The Dorks, Cum Dumpster, Lord Blasto, Pussyfoot) joined to form The DragStrippers.
The DragStrippers mix '70s garage (Stooges, New York Dolls) and psychedelic blues rock (Blue Cheer, Jimi Hendrix Experience) with the jack-hammer, hard-core punk of the early '80s (Misfits, TSOL) to create loud, aggressive, make-ya-wanna-drive-fast and get laid rock 'n' roll.
The DragStrippers recorded a rough EP called Super-Fly Lo-Fi. This EP was recorded on a jam box Dee found in a dumpster and was a raw, dirty lo-fi recording (hence the name). In the summer of 2002, Dee left the band and was temporarily replaced later that year by John Lehl (Diegrinder). John went into the studio (The Woodshed) with The DragStrippers and Tim Kerr producing 12 songs which became part of the first full length album Super-Fly Lo-Fi II. During 2003, a series of drummers came and went. Near the end of 2003, Matt Becker joined the band and played until early 2004 when he joined Easy Action. That summer, Brandon Winter tried out and is currently part of the lineup.
The DragStrippers have played all over the Midwest and have opened for the likes of The Cut Throats 9, Dixie Witch, The Gaza Strippers, Easy Action, The Lazy Cow Girls, The Real Kids and many more and are, again, back out on the scene with new songs and the best lineup yet. Detroit Rock and Roll at it’s ugliest and noisiest."
