Now try to imagine you're hearing all of your favorite styles of pop music ('60s rock, polka, alternative, etcetera) with a touch of tongue in cheek humor. You've just imagined THE POLISH MUSLIMS, the original Weird Al Yankovics. Since their inception in the 1980s, THE MUSLIMS have managed to blaze a trail of sold out shows, radio and TV appearances and dozens of outdoor summer concerts, all without taking themselves too seriously. From live simulcasts on Detroit's WCSX, WDET, WNIC AND Windsor's 89X, to their local Emmy nominated music video on WXYZ-ABC, THE MUSLIMS have faces for radio. Their single "That's Why God Invented the Polka" on the Restless Records' compilation "Polka Comes to Your Haus" launched THE MUSLIMS into national cult stardom, receiving heavy airplay on college radio stations, as well as on the band's car stereos. With their first self titled CD meeting with commercial and critical acclaim and their second CD "THE POLISH MUSLIMS MAKE NUMBER TWO", released in late 2000, receiving an even more overwhelming reaction than the first, the band is poised for.....well, whatever it is bands should be poised for. So without further ado, ladies and gentlemen... THE POLISH MUSLIMS.
