About David Nefesh

Allied with the "new-folk" scene, Nefesh's music is infused with pop and rock influences. Folk that rocks. His clear, heart-on-his-sleeve voice travels from gentle whispers to bold proclamations of joy and agony. Intimate, intelligent lyrics laced with poetic imagery and infectious melodies lead his audience to heartfelt journeys of love, loss, and personal transformation. He has been compared with artists as varied as Michael Stipe (R.E.M.), The Tragically Hip, James Taylor, Richard Thompson, Harry Chapin, Richard Shindell, and Gordon Lightfoot.

In January of 1999, he started an intense period of writing and performing that has yielded close to 90 original songs and 250 performances in the United States and Canada since that time. His first CD, "Stripped" was released in 2000 and garnered excellent reviews. He has made TV and radio appearances in the U.S. and Canada. His 2nd CD, "Pureheart" is expected for release in 2004.
