Spacelings & Bassheads

About Spacelings & Bassheads

"Funky, sleazy, hard-organic electronic grooves, slightly abstract (but concrete to the true heads). Bastardized slammin' disco-boppin' rebellious dance, echoey and based around an atmospheric edgy dubbed out dance music, also for cruisin' and smokin' late-night music ... sometimes with an illegal vibe. Influenced by only the deep funky Detroit shit and all the old-school dance floor classics, pre-Detroit techno, obscure funk and grooves, Sly & the Family Stone, Parliament, Georgio Mauroder, Kool & the Gang, Kraftwerk, Iggy & the Stooges (Kraftwerk's favorite rock band, for real!!), sexxy automible music, James Brown, Black Sabbath, obscure deep funk that wasn't bullshit pop music, bomb breakdowns, Led Zeppelin (Jimmy Page one of the best most influencial producers in the world! and John Bonham one of the best drummers in the world) and last but not least, anything that rocks or fucks things up in a good way, or that at least moves me, from Aphex Twin to Kano to Ziggy Stardust. For me, music has a magic over my emotions, soul and life; it means so much more to me than sounds and beats. My goal with my music is to express and convey the things I love about life and music — the mysteries and the obvious emotions you feel whenever you hear a track that you love. Hopefully I will be happy with some of my new songs that I am both multi-tracking and sequencing at a 24-track studio (new meets old school), but I hope to make it new — I'm sick of the regurgitated classics so prominent in most of today's dance hits. Things need to change or people are gonna turn into hippies again — or something worse."
