"Rock and roll that kicks your ass! Ready to take on the world one funky groove at a time, Face is the next great talent to captivate Detroit's eclectic roots-rock jam session. Face takes classic rock and kicks it up a notch, combining elements of R&B, soul, psychedelia and jazz. These young musicians are known for their sizzling live act. The same passion that fuels their performances can be heard on their new, self-titled debut release. Drummer Steve Firneno describes the band's philosophy: 'A lot of music today lacks diversity and style. We are striving for an organic sound.' Firnerno, bassist Mike B., and classically-trained guitarist Mike Smith became Face after meeting each other at one of the numerous Detroit open-mic jams. Finding in each other the same commitment of making really good rock 'n' roll, their lineup was solidified after discovering lead vocalist Courtney singing at a Howling Diablos gig. 'I had just moved back to Detroit after being in some groups in Kalamazoo... We hit it off immediately... We really love each other and love making music together,' Courtney proclaims. Today when sugar-coated pop music seems to rule the airwaves, Face stands out of the crowd as a roots-inspired rock band whose goal is to create songs true to the broad and rich heritage of modern music."
