Playing in many bands in the Detroit area and finding each other through serendipitous circumstances, the members of Makkafroi have been channeling their diversity into their sound for over 4 years. Their song-writing is styled by inspiration, which allows for a freedom of expression that won't fit into any box or label. Makkafroi is not afraid to conjure up images of breaking into an old schoolhouse, the pathos of small town eccentricity, an old shoe in the middle of the road or an absent lover. These inspirations came together on their first full length album, Priscilla's Cowboy Suit, a delicious blend of rock and somber pop that winds down funky, country roads. Combine this with upbeat instrumentals and you have what can only be described as, well, Makkafroi.
