"This Detroit based quintet successfully blends a progressive hardcore and pop-punk style with elements of hometown underground innovators the MC5's brand of hard rock. This divergence is the backbone of the energy and the influence the group displays and incorporates. With a frantic, high-energy live presence, This Frequency Five manages to still maintain an inclusive, almost intimate relationship with its live audience. Determined to bring its music to as many people as possible, the group has played numerous live shows ranging from benefits for various causes, to opening for national acts and headlining local showcases. The band has distributed their demos and recordings at their own expense to many fans along the way. The members pride themselves on being true to the music they grew up with and love, but are also not limited by it.
