About Edith Head

"Comparatively speaking, it's like a marriage between two siblings. Sick and wrong. Detroit natives Edith Head released their debut CD Show Me Yours nationally on August 1, 1999. Though Edith Head has been together for a short time, they are no strangers to the scene – or each other. Members include Eric (guitar and vocals), Brent (drums) and new member Matt on bass. Their individual influences range dramatically; however it is evident by watching their stage show that feedback-driven indie pop is what inspires them most. The Show Me Yours CD consists of seven songs, all written and produced by Edith Head, recorded at Roscoe's Recording in Detroit, Michigan. It's a CD that will appeal to many, providing both male and female vocals, with songs that range from bruisingly strong to melodic. This release has been described as having the ability to 'lull you like that patter of falling rain, then beat down with the intensity of hail, leaving you helpless but yearning for more.' Songs such as 'Interfold' (Track 2) tap into a schizophrenic realism that's both confrontational and perverse, qualities so often found layered throughout the lyrics of all of the band's music. Promoting an unconventional attitude, Edith Head strives to offer their audience something different. They're a match made in suburbia, unfortunate but true. In a world of over-played, over-produced pop, here comes Edith Head to kiss it and make it all better."
