About Paradime

"The music industry has been under attack from the Detroit City White Boys over the last few years, and the attack isn’t softening now! Paradime, born and raised Freddie Beauregard, has been a force in the Detroit underground well before MTV and Rolling Stone dropped names like Eminem and Kid Rock. His first release was in 1991, and although only a couple hundred copies were pressed up and sold, it marked the beginning of a successful career for this microphone bully. Discovered by rock/rapper Kid Rock in ’94 at a Detroit studio, Paradime played dates in small clubs and bars with Rock within the next three years, and honed his stage skills with the rock/rap superstar. He eventually signed Paradime to his Top Dog/Atlantic Records label, and plans were underway for a national release. In 1998, Paradime formed his own independent record label, 'Beats at Will,' and released his first solo project Paragraphs. The album featured the work of artists like D12 and other Detroit underground heavyweights. The album, released on a local level, sold out of stores in Detroit and its surrounding suburbs, and was the top-selling independent Detroit album of 1999-2000. Paradime also won two Detroit Music Awards at the 2001 DMAs for Best Hip Hop Artist, and Outstanding Emcee, was voted Real Detroit Magazine’s Hip Hop Artist of the Year in both 2000 and 2001, and graced the cover of the Metro Times, the Detroit Free Press, the Detroit News, and Real Detroit. His writing and performing skills were also seen on Uncle Kracker’s now double platinum solo release, Double Wide, where he co-wrote two songs and guest appeared on the song 'Heaven' with Kid Rock. Dime also co-wrote three songs Kid Rock's new album Cocky." "Paradime now steps up to the plate with his first national release, Vices. The full-length album features the work of the triple-platinum D12, as well as Detroit underground stars like Cansa, Hush, Tha Almighty Dreadnaughtz, and even a brief appearance from Uncle Kracker. Responsible for Vices’ top-notch production is D12’s Kon Artis and rising star Moss, responsible for Shady Record’s Obie Trice’s tracks. Vices is a view into Dime’s dark, alcohol-filled brain. A trip that no one will soon forget."

Few are more widely respected in Detroit’s hip-hop underground than Paradime, who has risen from the humblest of beginnings to become one of the most recognizable figures on the local scene. By his own merits, he's easily able to step out of the tall shadows of Slim Shady and Kid Rock to enjoy a muc... [MORE] By Nate Cavalieri 10/17/2001
