
The music of The W-Vibe, which has been described as Kraftwerk with a Mick Jagger chip stuck in them, is created by Dan Augustine and Joe Hornacek. The music is made with a variety of vintage electronic instruments, video game systems such as the sonically-rich Atari 2600 and '80s home computers like the Commodore 64. Live performances often involve the use of battery-operated toys and Superballs. The W-Vibe released their first CD, "Game Program", in 1999 on Davies Productions. Their second release, "Libra Action", an E.P. on Science of Sound, was released in 2001.
Simply the finest in retro-electro-rock, the W-Vibe's plundering of obsolete '80s game technology (particularly the sonically-rich Atari 2600 system), synthetic drums and effects machines that have lost their cutting edge and DIY space-ace getups necessarily puts 'em in a class by themselves.
