The Real Engler Revolution

Since his election as governor in 1990, John Engler has chalked up victory after victory in his crusade to transform Michigan. From school choice and environmental deregulation to privatization of public services, welfare reform and an overhaul of the state's workers compensation system, Engler's masterful implementation of a radical conservative agenda has drawn national attention.

His politics have also had consequences that do more than register on balance sheets recording profits made and money saved--human consequences tallied in suffering by workers denied compensation when injured and the poor left stranded by the "progress" of welfare reform; a record measured in rampant environmental degradation and shuttered mental hospitals.

Those are the stories, largely untold in other media, that can be found posted here on johnengler.com, a project of the Metro Times.

We have written a lot of articles about Gov. Engler and his policies over the years. Many of them have now been gathered together in this online site so that those interested in finding the whole Engler story can do so quickly and easily.
