Young Frankenstein

Every film lover is still mourning the death of the great Gene Wilder, but those same people need to go see Mel Brooks’ now-classic horror spoof, Young Frankenstein. If this movie is beloved to you, as it is to many Mel Brooks fanatics, you need to go see it on a movie screen. If you’ve never seen this movie, you’re missing out big time. Both sets of people deserve to see Dr. Frederick Frankenstein (Wilder) perform “Puttin’ on the Ritz” with the Monster (Peter Boyle). The cast for this movie is stellar as a whole, featuring Cloris Leachman, Madeline Kahn, Richard Haydn, and Marty Feldman at their finest. If you’re looking for a good laugh and to cope a little bit more with the loss of Wilder, go check out this showing. The film starts at 8 p.m.; 17360 Lahser Rd., Detroit; redfordtheatre.com; Tickets are $5.
