It’s usually a good idea to be a bit leery about anything involving Shakespeare. For the most part, nobody really reads him anymore. After a hard day of work, most people would rather drink a 40-ouncer of Olde English than try to decipher the complicated English of the Bard. Thus, I am a bit confused about the posters available at www.onepagebooks.com
that feature an entire Shakespeare play on only one piece of paper
(for $39.95). There are seven plays available, including Hamlet
and Romeo and Juliet
. Why would anybody buy one? Either to add a sense of “sophistication” to match the beige furniture in the living room, or to hang in the bathroom so that no moment might pass without culture.
