Detroiters once gathered together for music, lectures, poetry, cinema, dancing at venues which are now lost. These included the Graystone Ballroom, Danceland, the Vanity Ballroom, Cobb’s Corner, Alvin’s, the Art Center Music School, the Minor Key, the Grande, Zoots, the Freezer Theatre, the Gold Dollar Show Bar, the Fourth Street Fair, the Grinning Duck Club and many more. Some have been demolished, some sit empty and others are now being used for other purposes.
