Holy Mole! Mexican Mole Contest

The event celebrates the cooking talents of 15 pre-registered competitors who will each prepare their own rendition of homemade mole sauce, a hallmark of Mexican cooking and culinary symbol of the country’s mixed indigenous and European heritage. Local chefs and community leaders will judge the participants and the winner will be awarded a $500 prize. Spectators are welcome and will have an opportunity to taste and buy homemade mole by the half-pound from contestants. There also will be traditional Mexican food items available for purchase, including empanadas, tamales and a variety of unique desserts.
