Greater Farmington Film Festival

For four days, the Farmington area will play host to a festival of award-winning films that haven’t been released widely in Michigan. It’s the 2015 Greater Farmington Film Festival, and it will include the uplifting documentaries Crescendo and Alive Inside, a cautionary doc about American eating called Fed Up, the joyous animated feature Ernest & Celestine, and the French literary adaptation of the moody World War II novel Belle and Sebastian. Centerpiece of the fest will be a screening of a harrowing documentary about the American sex trade entitled The Long Night, with director Tim Matsui in attendance to field questions. The festival runs through Sunday and takes place in multiple venues. See gffilmfest.com for tickets, festival passes, and screen times.
