Detroit Fringe Theatre Festival

Actors, directors, playwrights, and those of you merely curious about the world of theater and performance would do well to check out this giant networking event, which aims to connect Michigan artists and out-of-state visitors in support of Detroit’s burgeoning arts scene. Artistic opportunities will abound and more than 50 Michigan artists’ work will be highlighted by a four-day lineup of 20 performances of 10-minute plays, full-length plays, musicals, and staged readings. To kick it all off, last year’s winning director-playwright pair Karen Brehmer and Paige Vanzo return as a collaborative team to premiere a new play, Magic.
